Job Summary

The cashier associate is responsible for increasing customer confidence and loyalty by providing accurate, fast and courteous customer checkout. This individual maintains financial responsibility in his/her service lane. Be able to adapt to rotating duties and responsibilities. Able to adhere to company policy and be proactive in engaging customers with a sense of urgency and customer service.

Responsibilities and Duties

  • Provide continuous attention to customer needs; greet, assist and thank customers in a prompt, courteous and friendly manner.
  • Listen to and appropriately escalate customer concerns to management with a positive attitude.
  • Manage lane according to service standards.
  • Properly record sales through the scanning system, operate cashiering equipment; accurately and efficiently  recognizing all forms of tender and providing the correct change when appropriate.
  • Stock front end products; restock and use supply items efficiently to eliminate waste.
  • Put up returned merchandise.
  • Return carts to shipping cart corral.
  • Assist in training new cashiers
  • Keep work area clean, orderly and free from safety hazards; report faulty equipment and hazards to management.
  • Notify management of associate theft, customer shoplifting, unauthorized mark-downs, property defacement or any action that is illegal and/or against company policy.
  • Perform other job-relater duties as assigned.

Work Hours

Applicants must be flexible to work various shifts during the hours of 8:00 am to 10:00 pm Mon-Sat and 9:00 am to 9:00 pm on Sundays.

Experience and Education

You must be 16 years of age or older. A minimum of (1) year retail experience is preferred but not required. Prefer working experience with people who have disabilities and/or previous Goodwill experience. Must be able to lift up to 40 lbs. independently and 100 lbs. with assistance.
