Retail Production and Operations Assistant Manager

Summary:

Under the direction of the Store Manager, responsible for assisting assigned store.  Major duties include assisting Store Manager in generating revenue and controlling expenses, supervision of Store Clerk personnel, inventory and stock rotation of assigned areas and providing exceptional customer service to employees and customers.  Ensuring Store is in compliance with all PCI and safety regulations. oversee all aspects of Textile, Hard Goods, and New Goods production. Major duties include meeting production quotas, research incoming items and train and develop staff.

Responsibilities and Duties

  • Assist in generating revenue and controlling expense budget for the store and staying within defined guidelines.  This would include ensuring that we have the appropriate number of cashiers scheduled to handle business for the day.
  • Ensures color rotation program is followed and maintained, and assists with textile color rotation per procedures in your assigned areas. (Children’s Department)
  • Promote merchandise sales and assist in creating in store displays on toppers within your assigned areas.
  • Ensure that cashiers are meeting the minimum expectation on Change Round Up.
  • Ensure jewelry counter is staffed, cleaned and merchandised appropriately at all times.
  • Monitor store premises and ensure that they are kept in a clean, neat and safe condition.  Responsible for all Team Sara duties.
  • Responsible for updating PBL on a daily basis to ensure accurate reporting.
  • Responsible for conducting the 5S audit on a weekly basis and following up on prior opportunities.
  • Responsible for a Facility Maintenance walk once a month with the Maintenance team to ensure the building is being maintained and work orders are put in within 24 hours.
  • Communicate and collaborate effectively with other departments to ensure all merchandise is put on the sales floor in a timely manner.
  • To ensure ShopGoodwill.com and Winter Park quotas are met.  You will be responsible for shipping weekly quotas.
  • Supervise and coordinate established policies involving the production and shipping of textile product, Hard Goods and New Goods.
  • Responsible for training and developing processors to ensure that we are offering exceptional Donor service and that all Goodwill policies and procedures are being followed.
  • Supervise the donation attendants and processors in the  receipt of inventory, stock rotations, color rotations, scheduled markdowns, and transfer of stock in accordance with the Organization’s procedures within your assigned areas.
  • Address minor disciplinary infractions/absentee policy with approved documentation.
  • Assure that production quotas are met; responsible for the quality and quantity of textile and hard goods product produced.
  • Research incoming items and assign appropriate cost.
  • Responsible for training and developing Donation Attendants and processors to ensure that we are offering exceptional Donor service and that all Goodwill policies and procedures are being followed.

  • Responsible for ensuring all Hazmat materials are properly handled and that your staff is properly trained on how to handle these materials.
  • Write schedule’s and monitor all department hours to ensure a cost effective operation
  • Will be the subject matter expert for Ultipro and When I Work within your Facility.
  • Address minor disciplinary infractions/absentee policy with approved documentation.
  • Responsible for opening and closing the store as needed.
  • Responsible for training and developing cashiers to ensure that we are offering exceptional customer service and that all Goodwill policies and procedures are being followed.
  • Responsible for ensuring all training checklists for new employees are filled out appropriately and sent in the Main within the allocated timeframe.
  • Handle employee and customer inquiries in a professional, timely and appropriate manner.
  • Follow procedures for dealing with potential disturbances and problems such as calming loud or boisterous customers, handling customers who are acting in a disorderly fashion or dealing with lost children.
  • Supervise assigned employees; assist in preparing work schedules and arrange for replacement of absent employees.
  • Work in collaboration with the Customer Service Supervisor to write employee performance reviews yearly and have the Store Manager review the evaluation before it is given.
  • Responsible for staff compliance with the Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC) and procedures for Public Protection.
  • Responsible for instilling proper attitude toward safety and security in employees and trainees, protecting the safety of customers, and ensuring that all store operations are performed in accordance with the Organization’s safety and security programs.
  • Inspect equipment (forklift, stacker, baler, etc.) used in production area to ensure it is working properly.
  • Identify any Maintenance concerns and enter them into the work order system within 24 hours
  • Maintain well-groomed appearance and appropriate business dress code including name badge.

Experience and Education

High School education or equivalent is required. A minimum of two (2) years retail and one (1) year supervisory experience. Prefer working experience with people who have disabilities and/or previous Goodwill experience. Must be able to lift up to 40 lbs. independently and 100 lbs. with assistance.
